I took Jordan to the Union Station to explore, and he was drawn to a dog that was with a homeless woman. They were there to find respite from the heat. The homeless woman was both kind and friendly. She looked much younger than her age of 74. Despite the hard life that she lived she had so much warmth and humanity about her. We took her to a restaurant to get some lunch. The owner told me "I've known her for years. She's a good person." She gratefully ordered a burrito, and a taquito for her dog. While the food was getting prepared we kept her company. She was so sweet with Jordan. He was curious about her cart, and she encouraged him to push it. After some time the owner came out to give her the food, and even gave her an extra torta. Since my parking meter was expiring we had to go. We embraced and said our goodbyes. We then stopped by one of my favorite places to eat in Echo Park: Tribal Cafe. There in line we met a couple of aspiring filmmakers. We had a great conversation, and they had some insightful things to say regarding the issues this current generation faces. They seemed like really genuine, thoughtful, and grounded young men. We happen to see them later at the park. Jordan immediately recognized them, and ran over to them. Even helping himself to one of their beverage LOL. Jordan had a great time at the park. He loves the water, and exploring. I love seeing the world through his eyes, as he discovers things for the first time. He also met this very adorable little Guatemalan-Japanese girl about his age. Her dad told me she's usually the one that goes up to people to hug sometimes overwhelming other kids. She's full of love, very sweet, affectionate, and non-stop energy. When she and Jordan first saw each other they ran towards each other to hug nearly knocking each other down. I think he met his soul mate 😅 It was a beautiful day in LA.
